The opening of Peter Murphy’s San Francisco residency has been pushed back yet again, with tonight’s concert bumped to later in the run as the singer remains stuck in Istanbul as his visa application remains held up in what the venue is calling a rare “random administrative processing” procedure. English synthpop icons The Human League have announced their first U.S. concerts of 2018, a pair of club shows in Las Vegas and San Francisco that bookend an appearance at the Like Totally ’80s Festival in Huntington Beach, Calif. — where the group will appear on a bill with The Alarm, Gene Loves Jezebel and The Untouchables.

Erasure will release a fully re-recorded version of the duo’s 2017 album World Be Gone in March, a new collaboration with the Brussels-based Echo Collective called World Beyond that’s being billed as a “post-classical rework” of the group’s latest album. The Afghan Whigs and Built to Spill will team up for a 24-date North American co-headlining tour this spring, taking their alt-rock guitar stylings out on the road for a tour that opens April 11 in Madison, Wisc., and wrap ups May 15 in Seattle. Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday.

David Byrne today announced a massive, 80-date world tour in support of his album American Utopia, a trek that will keep him on the road from early March through the end of August, accompanied by a 12-piece band performing “the most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed for ‘Stop Making Sense.’”

The Retro Futura package tour will return to the North America this summer for a month-long run with a lineup topped by co-headliners Belinda Carlisle and ABC, plus Modern English, Haircut 100’s Nick Heyward, Kajagoogoo’s Limahl and Bow Wow Wow’s Annabella. Full dates are expected later this winter.

The Fall’s planned seven-night residency in Brooklyn next year — which were to be the band’s first U.S. dates in more than a decade — has been canceled, as Mark E. Smith continues to recuperate from the health problems that already had forced the rescheduling of those shows.
