After staying off the road entirely in 2018, Andrew Eldritch is poised to take The Sisters of Mercy back out on tour in the fall of 2019, with a pair of late-September concerts in London to be followed by 18 dates across Europe and then a trio of shows in Australia.  See the full tour dates right here.

Bryan Ferry will follow up Roxy Music’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with an 18-date North American tour later this year during which he’ll perform songs off of that band’s final album, 1982’s Avalon, along with hits from across his career. Check out full tour dates here.

The Andy Gill-led Gang of Four will mount an 18-date U.S. tour in February ahead of the release of the post-punk legends’ first new album in four years, a 10-song collection called Happy Now that was previewed this year via the band’s Complicit EP. Full details and tour dates here.

Robert Smith called into Sirius XM this week to chat about The Cure’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year, and, along the way, revealed that work is nearing completion on the band’s first new album since 2008 and a Tim Pope-shot film of the group’s huge 40th anniversary concert in London.

Synth-rock legends New Order will return to the U.S. in mid-January for a concert in Miami, the band announced this weekend, though it’s not known whether the performance will be part of a broader American tour or a one-off concert on the way back from a Chilean make-up date. New Zealand indie-pop legends The Chills will embark on their first U.S. tour in 23 years next spring as they play 14 concerts in support of their new album Snow Bound in the lead-up to an appearance at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. See full dates right here.

Vanessa Briscoe Hay’s Pylon Reenactment Society — the band the Pylon frontwoman put together following the death in 2009 of guitarist Randy Bewley — next week will release its first original music in the form of a two-song single to be issued digitally and on 7-inch vinyl. Saying he’s “looking forward to running through my back pages,” Billy Bragg has announced a 2019 tour of the U.S. that will see him performing three nights in each city, performing his current set the first night, then two shows that focus on clusters of his early albums. Having just wrapped up their first leg Down Under, former bandmates Peter Murphy and David J today announced a 30-date North American segment of their tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of Bauhaus — a trek that’ll see the duo performing In the Flat Field in full. Turns out Elizabeth Fraser’s brief re-emergence last month was no fluke: The Cocteau Twins singer is going on tour with Massive Attack next year as the trip-hop group celebrates the 21st anniversary of Mezzanine — which featured Fraser on three songs, including “Teardrop.” Full details right here.

Bob Mould, the legendary frontman of Hüsker Dü and Sugar, is back with a new album and single — both called Sunshine Rock — that he says find him looking on the brighter side of things after a few years living abroad. Or, more simply, “This is not Black Sheets of Rain.” He’s also going on tour next year.

Clan of Xymox next week will embark on a 13-date North American tour — hitting much of the West Coast of the U.S., plus dates in Canada and Mexico — in advance of a new expanded reissue of Twist of Shadows, the band’s 1989 album released under the shortened Xymox moniker. Details and dates here.
