The founding members of British post-punk/New Wave act Modern English — immortalized by their hit ‘I Melt With You’ — are reuniting for the first time since the mid-’80s to tour this summer in support of the band’s just-released album ‘Soundtrack.’

Reunited Scottish indie-pop faves The Vaselines today announced they’ll release a new album called ‘Sex With An X’ — only their second ever, the follow-up to 1989’s ‘Dum-Dum’ — in September, and are previewing it with a free download of the track ‘I Hate the ’80s.’ Plus, they’ll mount a 10-date tour of the U.K. this fall.

Having already played more than 40 concerts on their wildly successful ‘Doolittle’ 20th anniversary tour, the Pixies will bring the show back to the U.S. for an 11-date run in September, hitting cities the band skipped last fall.

The reformatted Public Image Ltd. announced today that it will return to the U.K. this summer with a six-date run of shows in July that follows John Lydon and Co.’s initial comeback tour of the band’s homeland last December and a just-completed North American trek.

With its new album delayed until fall, landmark postpunk act Killing Joke this week announced it will issue ‘In Excelsis,’ an EP culled from the same sessions, later this month — and released ‘Endgame,’ a free MP3 that marks the first new music from the band’s original lineup since 1982’s ‘Revelations.’

Reformed jangle-pop act The Primitives are extending their reunion with a quartet of just-announced shows in Europe and their native U.K. this summer — and are hinting at a return to the U.S. this fall following a successful New York City gig earlier this month.

Despite persistent rumors of ill health, Peter Murphy this week announced 10 concerts in the U.K., Europe and Canada in late July and August as part of what he’s calling the Dirty Dirt Tour — with additional dates expected.
