With little fanfare, Matt Johnson today released the first new The The since 2000’s ‘NakedSelf’: a 24-song soundtrack to the indie serial-killer film ‘Tony.’
Out March 23, the soundtrack to ‘Hot Tube Time Machine’ features such ’80s film staples as Echo & The Bunnymen’s ‘Bring On the Dancing Horses’ and New Order’s ‘Bizarre Love Triangle,’ plus tracks by The Replacements (‘I Will Dare’), INXS (‘What You Need’) and The English Beat (‘Save it For Later’).
It’s not out until next month, but — thanks to Stereogum — you can now hear Robert Smith of The Cure covering “Very Good Advice” from Disney’s original “Alice in Wonderland,” which the iconic frontman has recorded for Tim Burton’s new live-action take on the Lewis Carroll classic.
