Rhino Records next month will mark the 40th anniverary of the Ramones’ classic 1977 sophomore album Leave Home with a deluxe 3CD/1LP reissue of the record that includes a remastering of the original album and a brand-new mix by original engineer Ed Stasium, as well a heap of previously unreleased bonus material.

Rhino Records this summer will reissue The Cars’ second and third albums — 1979’s Candy-O and 1980’s Panorama — in expanded editions featuring audio remastered under bandleader Ric Ocasek’s supervision and previously unreleased tracks and mixes from those records’ sessions.

R.E.M.’s multiplatinum eighth album Automatic For the People will receive a 25th anniversary reissue this fall on the newly christened Craft Recordings reissue arm of Concord Bicycle Music, which in late 2015 signed a worldwide licensing deal for the band’s Warner Bros. albums.

A 1988 live set by The Dream Syndicate could make its first appearance on vinyl in unedited form if enough fans vote for its release through new imprint Run Out Groove, which pits three titles against each other every month and lets fans decide which will be produced and put up for sale.

Boston-bred alt-rockers Buffalo Tom will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their third album Let Me Come Over with a new reissue next month that pairs the original record with the band’s first-live live release: a 17-song set recorded in London in 1992. U2 today marked the 30th anniversary of the release of The Joshua Tree by announcing a new expanded, multiformat reissue of the 1987 album that will include B-sides, outtakes, a concert recorded that year at New York’s Madison Square Garden and a set of newly commissioned remixes.

The Cure appears poised to celebrate this year’s edition of Record Store Day with vinyl picture-disc reissues of 2001’s Greatest Hits and a standalone release of the Acoustic Hits set that was included as a bonus disc in early pressings of the CD version of that best-of set. The two double-LP sets are expected to be released April 21.

With the 2015 installment of Record Store Day just a little more than a month away, the official exclusive-release lists for both the U.S. and U.K. installments have been made public, with sure-to-be-pricey vinyl pressings coming from a host of ’80s college-rock grads.

Siouxsie and the Banshees will reissue their second album — Join Hands, originally released in 1979 — on 180-gram vinyl for Record Store Day in the U.K., a limited-edition pressing featuring the original rejected sleeve and with the song “Infantry” restored to its “rightful place as the album closer,” according to the band.

Universal Music is advising Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark fans who’ve purchased the just-released deluxe-edition reissue of Junk Culture to return their copies to the retailers from which they purchased the album as it’s being re-pressed because of errors on Disc 2.

Omnivore Recordings continues its Game Theory reissue campaign with the release in March of an expanded 30th anniversary edition of the Scott Miller-fronted college-rock favorites’ 1985 sophomore album Real Nighttime, supplementing the original record with 13 bonus tracks.

The three original studio albums from the legendary 2-Tone ska act The Specials — 1979’s The Specials, 1980’s More Specials and 1984’s In the Studio — will be reissued this March in expanded 2CD sets featuring non-album singles, live material, instrumentals and Peel sessions.
