Two mid-period albums by goth-rock icons The Mission — 1995’s Neverland and 1996’s Blue — are set to be reissued in the U.K. next month, expanded to include B-sides, remixes and covers of John Lennon’s “Instant Karma” and “Pictures of Matchstick Men” by Status Quo.

Morrissey in April will release a new greatest-hits collection — the 18-track ‘The Very Best of Morrissey’ — featuring an unreleased, Siouxsie-less version of ‘Interlude,’ and will precede the set with a single backed by two unreleased ‘Viva Hate’ outtakes.

The cult-classic debut album by Chicago-bred power-pop trio Material Issue — 1991’s ‘International Pop Overthrow,’ home to modern-rock radio hits ‘Valerie Loves Me’ and ‘Diane’ — will receive an expanded 20th anniversary reissue this spring.

The Godfathers today released their first new single since 1995 — a 4½-minute rocker called ‘Back Into the Future’ — and next week will release expanded reissues of 1988’s ‘Birth School Work Death’ and 1989’s ‘More Songs About Love and Hate.’

The Charlatans will follow up last year’s double-disc re-release of debut album ‘Some Friendly’ this spring with an expanded reissue of 1999’s ‘Us and Only Us,’ supplementing the record’s original 11 tracks with 19 bonus B-sides, remixes, radio sessions and live tracks.

Kate Bush is set to reissue four key albums — 1982’s ‘The Dreaming,’ 1985’s ‘Hounds of Love,’ 1989’s ‘The Sensual World’ and 1993’s ‘The Red Shoes’ — later this year as rumors continue to swirl that she plans to release brand-new material in 2011 as well.

With Dinosaur Jr on break, bassist Lou Barlow is shifting focus to a revived Sebadoh, with plans to release expanded reissues of 1994’s ‘Bakesale’ and 1996’s ‘Harmacy’ this year and take the famously lo-fi act out on the road for the ‘Bakesale/Harmacy Remembering Time Tour.’

Former Hüsker Dü drummer, songwriter and co-vocalist Grant Hart will embark on a short tour of the mid-Atlantic and southeastern regions of the U.S. next month in support of the reissue of the long-out-of-print ‘The Last Days of Pompeii,’ the 1991 debut from his post-Hüskers project Nova Mob.

The ‘Omnibus Edition’ of The Fall’s ‘This Nation’s Saving Grace’ that first was announced in the summer of 2009 finally will arrive in late January, packed with 31 singles, alternative edits, John Peel sessions and previously unreleased ‘working mixes.’

‘Entreat Plus’ — the 12-track, remixed version of The Cure’s 1990 live album that was included on CD and digital versions of the expanded ‘Disintegration’ set earlier this year — will be released as a 2LP vinyl set on Jan. 11 by Elektra Records.

Although his catalog was just put back into print last month, Peter Gabriel is planning a full series of new reissues in 2011, including an expanded 25th anniversary edition of his crossover smash ‘So’ packaged with mixes, demos and new artwork.

Double dose of Nine Inch Nails news today: Trent Reznor this afternoon announced the band’s 1989 debut ‘Pretty Hate Machine’ will be reissued next month on CD, vinyl and digital formats, newly remastered ‘for a greatly improved sonic experience.’

Reissue specialists Vinyl 180 will follow up their recent Cocteau Twins and Gary Numan box sets next month with the first of two multi-record Dead Can Dance sets, a 4LP box that collects the band’s first three releases plus a new Peel session disc on audiophile vinyl.
