Clan of Xymox next week will embark on a 13-date North American tour — hitting much of the West Coast of the U.S., plus dates in Canada and Mexico — in advance of a new expanded reissue of Twist of Shadows, the band’s 1989 album released under the shortened Xymox moniker. Details and dates here.
Karl Wallinger’s got big plans for 2019, with a new World Party studio album — the band’s first in 19 years — planned for release along with reissues of the group’s full catalog on vinyl for the first time throughout the year, beginning with 1986 debut Private Revolution. The new album is expected in the spring.
Kate Bush will release remastered versions of her 10 studio albums this November on CD and vinyl in a series of multi-disc box sets that also will include four discs’ worth of rarities — many never before available on vinyl — including a whole disc of covers performed by the singer. The Beggars Arkive imprint will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Bauhaus this fall with limited-edition, colored-vinyl reissues of the pioneering goth-rock band’s first four studio albums, as well as its 1982 live set Press Eject and Give Me the Tape and the Crackle best-of. As part of the commemoration of the band’s 40th anniversary, Bauhaus is releasing a five-song EP recorded at the band’s first studio session on Jan. 26, 1979 — a collection that includes “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” and three previously on released recordings. Full details right here.
The three albums released by 4AD Records collective This Mortal Coil — led by label founder Ivo Watts-Russell, and featuring contributions from members of the Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Throwing Muses, Pixies and more — will be reissued next month in deluxe CD and LP editions.
