Hüsker Dü’s posthumous live album — The Living End, recorded at various venues in October 1987 but not released until 1994 — will receive its first-ever vinyl release later this month in the form of a 180-gram audiophile pressing by the Music on Vinyl label.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark will reissue its fifth album, 1984’s pop comeback Junk Culture, in February as a two-disc Deluxe Edition that will find the original album fully remastered and supplemented by a disc of the era’s B-sides, extended remixes and five previously unreleased songs and demos.

Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman’s lone solo record — 1984’s appropriately titled So-Lo — has been reissued on CD for the first time in more than a decade by the Varese Sarabande label, which has supplemented the nine-song album with a lone bonus track: the original mix of single and album opener “Gratitude.”

The spate of hugely expanded box-set reissues continues next year with Simple Minds’ breakthrough sixth album Sparkle in the Rain — featuring the singles “Waterfront” and “Up on the Catwalk” — set for re-release a a five-disc set featuring B-sides, remixes, BBC sessions, a previously unreleased concert.

By all appearances, XTC’s 1989 album Oranges and Lemons is next up in the band’s current series of audiophile reissues, as bandleader Andy Partridge has been tweeting in recent weeks about work on the 5.1 Surround mix, including an attempt to transfer the baked album tapes that were “in a very bad way.”

The just-released reissue of Siouxsie and the Banshees’ 1988 album Peepshow is being repressed following the discovery of a “minor mastering error” at the end of “Rawhead and Bloody Bones,” the band’s bassist, Steven Severin, announced today via the Banshees’ Facebook page.

The Pixies will mark the 25th anniversary of their classic sophomore album Doolittle with an expanded 3CD, 50-track reissue this December that will feature, as bonus material, the record’s B-sides, two of the band’s Peel sessions in their entireties, and a full disc’s worth of demos.

A year after reissuing their debut The Hurting in a bonus-stuffed box set, Tears For Fears is set to do the same for their monstrously successful second album, with an ambitious, multi-format reissue of 1985’s smash Songs From the Big Chair due out this fall.

One of Ministry’s earliest tracks — the oft-bootlegged “Same Old Madness,” which was recorded in 1982 and even has a video, but never was released — finally sees the official light of day on an expanded 2CD reissue of Al Jourgensen and Co.’s classic Wax Trax!-era compilation Twelve Inch Singles 1981-1984.

Late last month, Siouxsie and the Banshees confirmed the long-overdue reissue of the final four albums in the band’s catalog, and while tracklists were not announced at the time, they’ve now been revealed as the re-releases have appeared on Amazon UK for pre-order ahead of the Oct. 13 street date.

The audiophile reissue of XTC’s classic 1979 album Drums and Wires — with its new 5.1 Surround mix that frontman Andy Partridge last summer boasted is “so good it’s upped my opinion of the album” — finally arrives Oct. 27 on CD and Blu-ray, with the latter format stuffed with bonus material.

An impressive set of The Wedding Present reissues will arrive this fall, a campaign that sees the first decade of David Gedge and Co.’s catalog expanded into 3CD/1DVD sets brimming with extras that include non-album singles, B-sides, BBC sessions, live concerts, music videos and much more.

As we first reported last month, the final four titles in Siouxsie and the Banshees’ catalog (1987′s Through the Looking Glass 1988′s Peepshow, 1991′s Superstition and 1995′s The Rapture) finally will receive expanded-and-remastered CD reissues — and today the band itself announced a new, confirmed release date of Oct. 13.
