Now that the dust has settled from the controversial Best Albums of the ’80s poll, it’s time to get back to the voting. And next up will be a poll to determine the best EPs and mini-albums of the ’80s — basically, that somewhat ambiguous class of release that’s too long to be a single yet not quite long enough to be a full LP.

And it all comes down to this: After 1o months of voting in our year-by-year Best of the ’80s polls to determine the best albums of each year of the 1980s, we wrap it all up with the grandaddy of them all, the big all-decade poll designed to crown, once and for all, Slicing Up Eyeballs’ readers favorite records of the ’80s.

While voting remains ongoing in our Best of the 1980s poll, we do need to quickly interject a key annual tradition, and open up balloting for the best of this current year. We’re going to divvy things up into two polls: Best albums of the year, and a second ballot that includes reissues, box sets, compilations and live albums.
