Further indications of what The Cure has planned for 2019 emerged this morning with the announcement that Robert Smith and Co. will headline a pair of European festivals in June and July, coming a few months after the band’s first-ever concerts in South Africa. See more details right here.

In the build-up to this year’s festivities celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Cure, bandleader Robert Smith said fans could expect further touring in 2019 — and we now have the first evidence of that, with the announcement that the band will play two dates in South Africa next March. Tickets go on sale Friday.

The long-running German electropunk/industrial act Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft — better known simply as D.A.F. — will stage what is being billed as the first-ever American live performance of its 40-year career this November at the Cloak & Dagger festival in Los Angeles. New Order has lined up  a second U.S. festival appearance this year, with plans to follow up its headlining set at the inaugural InCuya Music Festival in Cleveland this August with another headlining appearance, this time at the Music Tastes Good Festival in Long Beach, Calif. London’s Meltdown festival today announced the remainder of the acts slated for this year’s Robert Smith-curated series of concerts, including festival closer CURÆTION-25: a two-hour performance by Smith at which he’ll be “joined onstage by four of his curious friends.” Full details here.
