Cabaret Voltaire will perform live for the first time in nearly 22 years this August when the group — “a lineup now consisting solely of machines, multi-screen projections and Richard H. Kirk” — plays a set at the Berlin Atonal Festival that will feature only new material and “no nostalgia.”

It’s well-documented that The Cure likes to play long, even in festival settings. Friday night, the band headlined the BottleRock Festival in Napa Valley, Calif., where they were given a two-and-a-half hour time slot… which apparently wasn’t enough. The Cure’s penchant for topping festival bills continues as Robert Smith and Co. were announced this evening as the headliners of all three Riot Fests — set for Toronto, Chicago and Denver this September — joining the band’s appearance at Bottle Rock in Napa Valley, Calif., this month.

It’s beginning to look like The Replacements have a new member: Tonight in Atlanta, the band once again enlisted Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, who first joined the band at the second weekend of Coachella last month, and now followed that up by appearing with the ‘Mats at the Shaky Knees Music Festival.

The Replacements’ reunion train continues to roll on, and now will hit the Pacific Northwest late this summer as Seattle’s Bumbershoot this week announced its 2014 lineup, which will feature the ‘Mats, Elvis Costello, Mission of Burma, The Afghan Whigs, Jonathan Richman, The Dream Syndicate and more.

This is almost becoming a regular occurrence: Newly reunited college-rock legends The Replacements have been confirmed for their second festival appearance in as many days this morning at Boston Calling rolls out the lineup for its Sept. 5-7 extravaganza.
