Seattle proto-grunge rockers Skin Yard — whose members included Jack Endino, producer of Nirvana’s ‘Bleach,’ and future Soundgarden and Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron — this month reissued most of its catalog digitally, with each record remastered and one, 1990’s ‘Fist Sized Chunks,’ remixed.

Via the release of the ‘One Drop’ EP last month, we’ve heard four of the new Public Image Ltd. tracks that will appear on ‘This Is PiL,’ the group’s first new album in 20 years, which arrives May 28 in the U.K. and May 29 in the U.S. Now comes a fifth new track, via Rolling Stone: ‘Deeper Water.’

Robyn Hitchcock this week announced he is recording a new album — provisionally titled ‘File Under Pop’ — that’s being eyed for a January release, but, in the meantime, he’s giving away two “interim tracks” as free downloads, including one recorded with singer-songwriter KT Tunstall singing harmonies.

Since last November, the reunited Dead Can Dance has released a series of free digital EPs every few months collecting material recorded on the band’s 2005 tour. This week comes the latest, ‘Live Happenings — Part V,’ which features “Black Sun,” “Salem’s Lot,” “Yulunga,” “Severance” and “Hymn for the Fallen.”

The new album from electronic music project Soulsavers — featuring Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan on lead vocals — arrives next week, but Mute Records is letting fans hear the full stream of ‘The Light the Dead See’ via the widget posted here. Joe Jackson is tipping his hat to jazz legend Duke Ellington this summer with a new album called ‘The Duke’ — featuring guest turns by the likes of Iggy Pop, The Roots’ ?uestlove, Steve Vai and Sharon Jones, among others — to be followed by a 14-date U.S. tour this fall featuring his “Bigger Band.”
