Chicago reissue label Numero Group — behind last year’s superb Hüsker Dü box set — now has set its sights on Blondie, with a six-song EP tracing the genesis of “Heart of Glass” due out in October followed by The Complete Studio Recordings 1975-1982 box set next year. Full details of the EP here.

Last month we brought you early word of a giant 9-disc R.E.M. boxed set filled with BBC recordings, and while it’s still not officially announced — though it seems we’re close to that happening — we can now offer full details and a complete tracklist for the package. Full details right here.

Though not officially announced, it appears a major archival project is in the works from R.E.M.: a nine-disc CD/DVD boxed set of BBC recordings that currently is listed for pre-order via Amazon in the U.K., along with a 2LP “best of” set culled from that larger collection. We’ll pass on more details as they emerge.

The Cocteau Twins’ latter-period work — spanning the years 1993 to 1996 — will be compiled this fall on a new four-disc, 53-track box set that will include the dreampop icons’ final two albums plus two discs’ worth of B-sides, EP tracks, live radio sessions and rarities. Cherry Red Records this fall will update The Fall’s 2004 compilation 50,000 Fall Fans Can’t Be Wrong by expanding it to 58 tracks across three discs, bringing it up to date with the inclusion of music up to and including the title track from the late Mark E. ]Yazoo – the classic synthpop duo of Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke that was christened Yaz in the U.S. – last month announced plans for a 4-disc box set collecting it two albums, plus remixes and BBC radio sessions that was to be released only on heavyweight vinyl and digital formats.  Now it’ll be released on CD, too.

EBM giants Nitzer Ebb, last active with the release of 2010’s Industrial Complex and subsequent touring, today announced a giant career-spanning vinyl box set and plans to tour in 2019 with original drummer David Gooday back on board for the first time since 1987.
