In late June, Mike Peters released the first album by The Alarm in eight years, an 11-song effort called Equals that features Billy Duffy of The Cult on one song. Now comes the music video for one of the album’s standouts: “Thirteen Dead Reindeer,” a driving rockers with some electronic flourishes.

4AD Records will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Pixies’ debut full-length Surfer Rosa next month with a dual reissue of that album and its 1987 predecessor, the eight-song mini-album Come On Pilgrim, that will include a bonus live set from 1986. Full details and tracklist right here.

Less than a month after being forced to cut a tour short to recover from cancer treatment, Elvis Costello has announced his next studio album with his long-running combo The Imposters (ie, most of The Attractions) and debuted two of the songs that will appear on that record. EBM giants Nitzer Ebb, last active with the release of 2010’s Industrial Complex and subsequent touring, today announced a giant career-spanning vinyl box set and plans to tour in 2019 with original drummer David Gooday back on board for the first time since 1987. Yazoo – the hugely influential synthpop duo of Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke that was christened Yaz in the U.S. – will release a 4LP vinyl box set this fall called Four Pieces that collects the group’s two albums plus a set of remixes and their two BBC radio sessions.
