Beloved 2 Tone ska act The Specials today released its first new album featuring original frontman Terry Hall since 1980’s More Specials, and helped mark the occasion by announcing a 40th anniversary tour of North America this May and June. EBM giants Nitzer Ebb, who reformed late last year and played a handful of dates in December, today announced a 12-date North American tour in May ahead of their planned appearances at a spate of European summer festivals and additional concerts into the fall. Full dates right here.

Records”  — which, to date, has only screened at film festivals and special events —  will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in April, along with a soundtrack album. The Pixies this week revealed plans to release a new album this September — the legendary indie-rock act’s third post-reunion, post-Kim Deal LP — along with a new 12-part podcast series that will document the recording sessions as well as the group’s history. Plus the band’s going on tour with Weezer. Again.

The Church will bring its tour marking the 30th anniversary of  Starfish — make that the 31st anniversary now — back to the U.S. this spring for 22 more shows, at which the band will perform the 1988 record that broke the Aussie rockers in the United States. See full dates right here.

Clan of Xymox today announced the postponement of its 13-date North American tour planned for March, saying the ongoing partial shutdown of the U.S. government has meant the band’s work visas won’t be processed in time. New dates in November will be announced soon.

Just days before he’s set to release a new album recorded with his version of legendary 2 Tone-era ska act The Beat, frontman Ranking Roger on Monday revealed that, after suffering a stroke last summer, he was diagnosed with two brain tumors and lung cancer. Roger disclosed his medical issues via a nearly 9-minute video.
