As we reported last fall, the documentary “Industrial Accident: The Story of Wax Trax! Records”  — which, to date, has only screened at film festivals and special events —  will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in April, along with a soundtrack album. Just days before he’s set to release a new album recorded with his version of legendary 2 Tone-era ska act The Beat, frontman Ranking Roger on Monday revealed that, after suffering a stroke last summer, he was diagnosed with two brain tumors and lung cancer. Roger disclosed his medical issues via a nearly 9-minute video.

We first wrote about Freedom Records & Films’ documentary about Mojo Nixon back in 2013, and, at the time, it was expected out in 2014. Lorna Doom, bassist for legendary Los Angeles punk act Germs, 1958-2019

Lorna Doom, the bassist for legendary early Los Angeles punk outfit Germs and a striking figure described by her own family as “a woman of mystery,” succumbed to cancer this week, dying after a year-long illness in Thousand Oaks, Calif., at the age of 61. Former bandmate Don Bolles announced her death.
