The Elvis Costello box set that the singer himself railed against last fall has actually increased in price over the intervening months — Amazon.com now lists it at $280, up from $260 — but, as promised, fans soon will be able to spend $257.35 less for a slimmed-down repackaging of the set.

With their new ‘x5’ box set out Monday in the U.K., Simple Minds today offered up a stream of one of the set’s remastered bonus tracks: ‘Special View,’ the B-side to the band’s very first single, ‘Life in a Day,’ originally released in 1979. Check it out right here.

The Raincoats — who, like The Vaselines, enjoyed a ’90s career renaissance thanks to Kurt Cobain’s fandom — will follow up their appearance at the Jeff Mangum-curated All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in the U.K. with an appearance at the 35 Denton festival in Texas and a short run of West Coast dates.

Kraftwerk will perform eight of its studio albums in their entirety at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art over eight consecutive nights this spring, a ground-breaking multimedia presentation dubbed ‘Kraftwerk – Retrospective 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8’ that will include new 3-D visual accompaniment.

Morrissey next month will reissue his 1988 debut ‘Viva Hate’ in a new edition remastered by original producer Stephen Street and featuring a tweaked tracklist and modified artwork — and he’ll follow that a month later with a 10-inch single released for Record Store Day featuring a previously announced remix of ‘Suedehead’ by Sparks.

Ian McCulloch’s not the only Bunnyman with a solo project on the horizon: Guitarist Will Sergeant has recorded an instrumental, acoustic solo album called ‘Things Inside’ — featuring former Echo & The Bunnymen bassist Les Pattinson on a few tracks — and is asking for fans to help fund the record’s release.
