Peter Hook to perform Joy Division’s ‘Still’ in Manchester, recreate band’s final concert

Peter Hook will perform Joy Division’s third and final album, 1981’s ‘Still,’ at two concerts in Manchester this May, playing both the first disc’s collection of rarities and outtakes, and then recreating the band’s final concert as included on the second disc. The concerts are set for May 18, the anniversary of Ian Curtis’ death, and May 19.

It’s good news/bad news for My Bloody Valentine fans: The endlessly delayed reissue of 1988’s ‘Isn’t Anything’ and 1991’s ‘Loveless’ — the latter featuring an unreleased alternate mix by Kevin Shields — no longer have release dates, but Sony Music is planning to release an MBV disc entitled ‘EPs 1988-1991’ this spring.
