Dexys — Kevin Rowland’s relaunched and newly shortened Dexys Midnight Runners — today debuted ‘Nowhere is Home,’ the first track to be released off the band’s forthcoming ‘One Day I’m Going to Soar,; on U.K. radio, and then promptly made the song available as a free download.
Having just scrubbed plans for a short U.S. tour this month, Echo & The Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch has now announced three ‘intimate’ solo shows in Liverpool and London this May to coincide with the release this spring of the singer’s new fan-funded solo album ‘Pro Patria Mori.’
Credit for this week’s installment of Vintage Video goes to Cocteau Twins bassist Simon Raymonde, who came across this rare footage of his band on YouTube — a seemingly complete concert filmed Nov. 1, 1990, at London’s Town & Country Club during the ‘Heaven or Las Vegas’ tour — and posted it on Facebook.

Fields of the Nephilim this month will release Ceromonies, a document of a pair of concerts at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire in 2008 that will be available as a 2CD/DVD set, a double LP, a digital download and a ‘collector’s box’ that features all of that, plus ‘a wealth of extra artifacts.’
Lee Ranaldo may have an excellent new solo album to promote — ‘Between the Times and the Tides,’ due out March 20 on Matador Records — but he’s invariably going to be asked at every turn about the future of Sonic Youth, given last year’s break-up of bandmates and spouses Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon.
