Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders will celebrate Record Store Day this year by reissuing a 1980 live set recorded at Boston’s Paradise Theater on colored vinyl — a performance that originally only was available as a promo-only Warner Bros. Music Show platter. Full details and tracklist right here.

Post-punk heroes Wire will release a new vinyl LP of outtakes on Record Store Day called 10:20 that collects outtakes from the band’s sessions for 2010’s Red Barked Tree on one side and a second side of leftovers from the recording of 2020’s Mind Hive. Full details and tracklist right here.

Beggars Banquet will reissue the lone studio album from Bauhaus offshoot Tones on Tail — 1984’s nine-song set Pop — for the first time ever on Record Store Day, packing the album in a new sleeve featuring revised artwork and silver foil text. Full details and tracklist right here.

Rhino Records will release one of the highlights of The Replacements’ recent Dead Man’s Pop box set — the 29-song The Complete Inconcerated Live set — in a standalone 3LP, 140-gram black vinyl edition for this year’s installment of Record Store Day. Full details right here.

Matt Johnson this week announced he’ll release a new 7-inch by The The for Record Store Day next month, a single called “I WANT 2 B U” that finds the musician writing and recording with the “quirky Omnichord instrument” for the first time since he used in on 1983’s “This Is the Day.” Hear a short sample here.

It took The Cravats — skronky veterans of U.K. punk’s fabled Class of 1977 — some 37 years to follow up their debut album The Cravats in Toytown with sophomore LP Dustbin of Sound.
