Wire this summer ventured to the U.S. for a brief tour in support of the band’s 13th studio album Change Becomes Us, sticking to the eastern portion of the country. Now fans on the West Coast will get a chance to see the group, as a pair of dates in Los Angeles and San Francisco have been announced.

This week’s Slicing Up Eyeballs Music Hour on Strangeways Radio featured music by 10,000 Maniacs, The Sisters of Mercy, Oingo Boingo, Mighty Lemon Drops, Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians, Talking Heads, Erasure, The Godfathers, Midge Ure, Ian McCulloch, The Cult and more.

Cherry Red Records next month will mark the 25th anniversary of Peter Murphy’s second solo album — 1988’s Love Hysteria, featuring the classic single “Indigo Eyes” — with an expanded 2CD reissue that will pair the remastered nine-track album with 13 home demos, B-sides and single edits and remixes.

Seattle’s KEXP has just shared video of a blistering, half-hour set by Bob Mould filmed by the radio station during last month’s Bumbershoot festival that finds the rocker tearing through a set comprised of three songs apiece off Sugar’s Copper Blue, his latest solo album Silver Age and Hüsker Dü’s Flip Your Wig.

After playing a run of small club shows in New York and Los Angeles this month, plus a slot at the iTunes Festival in London, the new Pixies lineup tonight officially open its world tour with the first of two nights at L’Olympia in Paris — and the whole show is streaming live online courtesy music streaming service Deezer.
