Scott “Rock Action” Asheton, the co-founder and longtime drummer of proto-punk legends The Stooges who in recent years was sidelined by unspecified medical issues, died Saturday night at age 64, bandleader Iggy Pop announced today via the group’s Facebook page.

Morrissey will follow up his just-released reissue of 1992’s Your Arsenal with a new remastered edition of that album’s follow-up — Vauhxall and I, released exactly 20 years ago today — on June 2, the singer announced today via fansite True To You. The album is remastered by Bill Inglot.

The Cure will return to North America late this spring to headline the BottleRock festival in Napa Valley, Calif., joining, at the top of the bill, OutKast, Eric Church, The Fray, Weezer and Band of Horses — plus Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker.
