Former Smiths guitar slinger Johnny Marr today announced plans for a second round of touring in North America behind his third solo album, Call the Comet, following up dates last September and November with 19 new dates in the U.S. and Canada in April and May. See full dates here.
Morrissey today announced an eight-date tour of Canada this April, abandoning without explanation his 15-year boycott of the nation until its annual seal hunt is banned. That hasn’t happened, but Moz nevertheless will return, and part of the tour’s proceeds will go toward animal welfare charities across Canada. Dates here.
The Cure announced today that it will return to the Sydney Opera House, where the band premiered 2011’s Reflections concerts, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Disintegration with four full-album performances in May — perhaps the first of more to come. Full details right here.

The Wedding Present has just released a third collection of recordings that the David Gedge-led band made for Marc Riley’s show on BBC radio, and the group is promoting the collection — titled, naturally, Marc Riley Sessions Volume 3 — with a cover of the theme for the 1967 James Bond film “You Only Live Twice.”
