Taking a pause from bass duties in the ongoing Dinosaur Jr reunion, Lou Barlow this week released a new digital-only EP called = Sentridoh III — recorded with his current backing band, The Missingmen — and announced a second round of North American concerts later this summer.
The eight-track EP, available at MergeRecords.com, includes re-recordings of songs from his two solo albums — 2005’s Emoh and 2009’s Goodnight Unknown — as well as a cover of Skip James’ “I’m So Glad” and a new version of “Losercore,” Barlow’s 1992 Sentridoh single. The latter track is available as a free download below, plus watch the new video for “On the Face,” another track off the brand-new EP.
Barlow will tour with the Missingmen — Mike Watt’s backing band — this summer in two rounds; first the trio heads out across the western U.S. with 14 dates beginning Thursday, then the group is joined by Wye Oak for another 14 eastern dates beginning Aug. 8.
