BACKSTORY: It came out two weeks ago in the U.K. and via iTunes in the U.S., but North American fans on Tuesday finally can buy the long-awaited 3CD reissue of Robert Smith and Co.’s 1989 masterwork. The new set features a disc of demos and an expanded version of the Entreat live album (see tracklist here and review here).

BACKSTORY: The Erasure frontman this week releases his second solo album, the follow-up to 2005’s Electric Blue. The new record was co-written and co-produced by Pascal Gabriel, and features the singles “Running Out,” “Will You Be There?” and “Call on Me,” plus “Honey If You Love Him (That’s All That Matters),” a duet with Perry Farrell.

BACKSTORY: The former Soft Cell singer this week releases, in his native U.K., his first new album of “self-written songs” in a decade — and one that he’s hinted may possibly be his last, at least for some time. The first 3,000 copies of the 16-track disc will include a bonus CD with seven acoustic tracks recorded during the same sessions.

BACKSTORY: The Throwing Muses singer checks in this week with a new 18-track live album recorded recently at the famed Yoshi’s jazz club in San Francisco.
