We’ve checked in a few times now on the weekly “Undercover: 25 Bands, 25 Cover Songs, 1 Small Room,” web series from the A.V. Club, which features bands stopping by the publication’s offices, picking a cover song off their list and cranking out the tune. And it’s time to do so again, as this week’s installment finds The Wedding Present delivering a great, fuzzed-out take on The Rolling Stones classic “19th Nervous Breakdown” (see below).
Previous episodes in the series have included Ted Leo and the Pharmacists covering Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and Maritime tackling Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence.” Still on the A.V. Club’s list to be covered: The Smiths’ “A Rush and Push and the Land is Ours,” The Wedding Present’s “My Favourite Dress,” The Cure’s “In Between Days,” The Replacements’ “I Will Dare” and R.E.M.’s “Driver 8.”
New videos are posted every Tuesday at AVClub.com.
