Management for Depeche Mode announced on the band’s Web site this morning that four more Tour of the Universe dates are being canceled as singer Dave Gahan continues to battle a “severe bout of gastroenteritis.”
Gahan “is currently undergoing further tests” related to his ailment, more commonly known as the stomach flu.
On Tuesday, Gahan was rushed to a Greek hospital just minutes before taking the stage in Athens, forcing the band to cancel that concert and tonight’s performance in Istanbul, Turkey.
So far, the band has nixed six dates on its just-launched world tour in support of Sounds of the Universe. Fans have been asked to hold onto their tickets until the band announces whether the shows will be rescheduled.
Canceled Depeche Mode tour dates:
May 12: Terra Vibe Park, Athens, Greece
May 14: Santral, Istanbul, Turkey
May 16: Izvor Park, Bucharest, Romania
May 18: Vasil Levski Stadium, Sofia, Bulgaria
May 20: USCE Park, Belgrade, Serbia
May 21: Arena, Zagreb, Croatia
