BACKSTORY: One of the finest power-pop/bar bands of the ’80s continues its weird transformation into a late-career cover band, following two albums of Beatles tunes with their own take on The Who’s classic rock opera Tommy.

BACKSTORY: This 2CD/3LP set is an expanded reissue of the 1992 Sub Pop comp The Way of the Vaselines, and features the band’s two EPs (Son of a Gun and Dying for It) and only full album (Dum-Dum), plus a second disc of demos, unreleased tracks and live cuts recorded in the U.K. 1986 and 1988.
ARTIST: The Wedding Present
RELEASE: “Dick York’s Wardrobe: The Hit Parade Videos”
BACKSTORY: This DVD collects the videos for the one-a-month singles that David Gedge and Co. released throughout 1992 in lieu of a new Wedding Present album, plus a cover of Elton John’s “Step Into Christmas.”
