“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).
The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.
Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

Tonight was a delightfully smooth ride into fall playing some of my most favorite bands. And since spooky season is nearly upon us, let’s hear something fitting :
Lords of Acid – Horror Movies
It’s got that weird 30 sec opening, not sure if that makes for good radio? Radio edit? Get weird and add another 30 seconds of it? Who knows? It would be fun though. Thank you for doing the Lord’s work.
Thanks for the Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. This is a tough one to call. Every hour had so many good songs. I’m just going to call it a three way tie tonight. Loved hearing the Adam & the Ants, Damned, VAST, Snake Corps, Nitzer, and Sad Lovers/Giants.
One of the best shows of the year. Thanks again. Have a good week.
Great show as usual.
To commemorate the recent anniversaries of Gary Numan’s Telekon and The Pleasure Principle, may I request some live Gary Numan for a future show?
Thanks!
Seconded!
Always a great show! Thank you!
For the next one :
Identity House by Pink Turns Blue
Hearing Anne Clark on your show tonight got me thinking about Nicole Blackman’s work with the Golden Palominos (and also KMFDM). Could you please play “Ride” by the Golden Palominos? Thanks!
Can someone give my the official count on how many times AE says “my heartland”. I think it’s over 120, hah.
It’s 43 times
BTW, Matt, no recommendations from me. My pedestrian choices are no match for your killer playlists.
“Millions” by XTC for (the next after next) Sunday’s show
Was such a delight to hear “Come Alive.” I’m so glad you played that! If it’s possible to hear another Daniel Ash solo tune from this century, I’d like to request “Where’s My Leather Catsuit” or even “Flame On” would be nice to hear. No worries if not possible. Have a great week!
A good setlist to end the weekend. Head cut was very welcome to hear. Nice photo of propaganda.
Great show as usual. Hour one was full of personal favorites…Also enjoyed JAMC, Love and Rockets. And thank you for playing my request for The Smiths.
A request for an upcoming show: The Damned “Nasty”
Does anyone remember this song from The Young Ones tv show? How’s that for a blast from the past!
omg The Young Ones. Vyvyan was always my favorite.
Rik was my favorite but the whole cast was amazing. And I loved the combo of Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson in other projects.
So many great tracks this week, well done sir. Coin toss between hour one and three for me, but I’ll give the slight nod to hour three since it includes an all timer from The Smiths, good call Nicole.
That beautiful Peter Murphy cover of Bowie reminded me of another one his covers off his first album, this one Magazine. How about “The Light Pours Out of Me” by Peter Murphy on a future show?
Have a great week Matt, cheers!
The Danse Society – Hide
Thank you for playing my Adam and the Ants suggestion. I’m about to see Ministry live f9r the first time, can you play So What?
Hi Matt, could you please play The Soft Kills cover of Ministry’s I’m Falling? Thanks!
“Sex & the Married Frog” was gorgeous. Want to explore more Psychic TV and Throbbing Gristle. Anyone have any suggestions on where to start?
Also “Our Darkness” so good. Must listen to more Anne Clark too!
Killer DW going into autumn!
Here are some requests –
Executive Slacks – Say It Isn’t So
The Gun Club – Lupita Screams
Thanks!
Hi Matt!! Thank you for playing my ‘Lazy’ request!! I loved all 3 hours this week – a really good mix of genres!! Anyway enough gushing….some possible suggestions for next time:
Supergrass – Caught By The Fuzz
James – Ring The Bells
Violent Femmes – Add It Up
Thanks again as always!!! 。◕‿◕。
The Dark – The Pleasure Is Pain (1982)
Nine Inch Nails – The Day The World Went Away (1999)
Hey Matt, could you maybe play NiN’s great recent tribute to Bowie’s Blackstar – “God Break Down the Door”? Thank you!
Thank you again! You represented at least a dozen of my favorite bands!
DAF and thank you for choosing something off Paint Your Wagon
How about cold sweat by The Sugarcubes?
great stuff! Love that ASF song, and for a min I thought the Daniel Ash track was ASF, too :) The Blue Aeroplanes covering Paul Simon… still puzzling over that one – it was a great discovery.
For a future episode, a perennial request of mine around this time of year that probably isn’t dark enough to make the cut but oh, I dig its swirling beauty so much: Luna doing Beat Happening’s Indian Summer. Extra points for one of the few great live versions out there.
Thanks as always Matt and Happy Fall, Dark Wavers!
I’ll second “Indian Summer”. Great call for this time of the year.
Hi Matt, how l can you please play Gene Loves Jezebel, Bruises (extended mix). Dedicated to Veronica. I had a great time at the 80s club.
My favorite show on any radio, during any time. Yes, even my old CFNY (Toronto) days. Its like an evening out at my favorite club from the 80’s (Shout out to all my fellow Silver Crown-ers).
Great list as usual.
Would love to hear:
Baby Judy – by the Hawaiian Pups (the most underrated and underplayed song ever)
In Your Memory – Depeche Mode (Slik Mix to satisfy my industrial fiends)
I Sit on Acid – Lords of Acid
Collapsing New People (Berlin Mix) – Fad Gadget
Rerun Time – Front 242
Attack Ships on Fire – Revolting Cocks
I walk the Line / Smells Like Shit – Alien Sex Fiend
Alas, I could go on forever, and ever, and ever….
The Hope Blister – Is Jesus Your Pal
