  1. “Israel” by Siouxsie + the Banshees

  2. Man, Wax and Wane followed by Colours was perfect. Thank you!

As you were mentioning people who just passed away, it reminded me that it was 25 years ago this month that we lost Rozz Williams. Could you play one of these –
    Spectre – Christian Death
As Evening Falls – Christian Death
    Flowers – Rozz Williams

  3. Thanks for the requests. Great blocks of music with the shoegaze and punk, but have to give it Hour 2 again, this time because of the Sire block. The Glove, KMFDM, Nitzer Ebb, and Peter Murphy didn’t hurt either.

For a future show, requesting Gang of Four “We Live as We Dream, Alone” please.

    Thanks.

  4. Loved the shoegaze and kmfdm tonight, Matt!

  5. Great show as usual, Matt. May I request “Hawaii” by PiL in honor of the recent passing of Nora Forster for a future installment? Thanks.

  6. Excellent, excellent show yet again! The second and third blow is were outstanding. Love all the deep cuts, esp by The Cure, Smiths, The Clash, Depeche Mode, and sisters of mercy. Phenomenal!

  7. “Tin Omen” by Skinny Puppy.

  8. May I request “Scythe and Spade” by And Also The Trees? Thanks. I´m endlessly grateful for your site Matt! Thank you so much.

  9. The Psychedelic Furs – I Wanna Sleep With You

  10. Great set list Matt. A cut from Just say yes was a nice touch.

  11. Well that was the best Easter Sunday church service I’ve ever attended. Loved the Sakamoto and Stein blocks, those were both excellent. I appreciated your words about Sire records being such a formidable part of so many of us 80s children’s lives, spot on. Hour 3 just absolutely killed though, so good. Thanks again for playing the requests, folks just keep on calling for some great cuts.

Just saw your post this morning about The Dream Syndicate reissue. I’d love to hear a track from them next week, your choice. Growing up in LA in the 80s they were an important band that never really got their due.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

    • Appreciate the comments last week on Dog Man Star. You know for all the shit I said, it’s my favorite Suede album. Bernard Butler, and I suppose it has to do with that time in my life. “The Asphalt World” is one of my favorites these days.
Sorry about you missing the Depeche Mode concert. Your next show will be a good one.

      • Next show for me is Sisters of Mercy in San Francisco, looking forward to that one big time. And good call on The Asphalt World, that may be the best track on the album.

Give us a full report on the Skinny Report show this weekend, have fun!

  12. I loved the combo of Wax & Wane and Colours. I noticed that you got the Echo & the Bunnymen 12in from the Just Say Yes compilation. I’m reminded that Vol. 4 of Just Say Yes included Ministry’s Breathe (Live from the Gulag). Could you play that live version?

  13. R.I.P. Ryuichi Sakamoto…nice tribute. Yellow Magic Orchestra, such a brilliant group. “Firecracker” what a fun song. Isn’t it so great that artists, authors, and musicians live on through their work!

  14. Hey Matt thanks for the Lush track! All 3 hours were top notch! Some possible suggestions for next time:
    MLWTTKK – Swine and Roses
Siouxsie and the Banshees – Slowdive
The Sisters of Mercy – Dominion

    Thanks as always!! 。◕‿◕。

  15. Electrafixion: Zephyr
    The Primitives: Really Stupid
The Heart Throbs: I Wonder Why

  16. Nebraska – A thought of your own

  17. Hour 3 ripped Matt! The Damned and GBH will be playing local in OC late May and early June.

  18. Oh btw now that I’ve had a chance to listen to more of the show – kudos on the Sire Records – Just Say …cd compilations song block….I still have all of them! That brought me back!!

  19. Jonathan Leon

Nice selection of songs. I would love to see you play Talk About the Weather – Red Lorry Yellow Lorry

  20. Great show as always. Every Sunday I am treated to songs I have not heard before, or haven’t heard in a while.(Charlie Don’t Surf was a nice surprise).
Could you please play Pressure by Gary Numan( The Jagged edge album remix)? I love this version.
Thanks again for taking my requests, It means a lot. I always look forward to what you’re’ going to play every Sunday.

  21. How about some hyper-obscure shoegaze from 4AD:

Swallow – “Oceans and Blue Skies” or “Lovesleep”
    or
    Spirea X – “Speed Reaction”
    or
    Pale Saints – “Hair Shoes”

My vote goes to Pale Saints, but dealer’s choice. Thanks!

  22. Folks, wish us a great show this weekend. Skinny Puppy will be in town and we are so excited!

20 years or so ago my girlfriend and I got lost en route to see them. We arrived in just enough time to witness…the final encore. Think they played Vivisect 6 but all we could hear was “Look what you missed! Gaze upon the coolness!” Bummer.

Eventually this gorgeous girl became my wife, but believe me, missing that show is STILL a source of contention!

    Brap IS where its AT.
    Series 3
    “Sparkless”

  23. Enjoyed the blocks!

    Here are some requests –

    For Against – Over Nepal
    The Cramps – Caveman

    Thanks

  24. Hi Matt!

Thought maybe this one would have popped up on your recent “Lust for Lists” guest appearance! Since it did not, I’ll request here! :) …….. “How Soon is Now” – the classic Smiths tune, covered by Richard Butler’s Love Spit Love!
    Cheers – JR

  25. Dark episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    Bauhaus, “Dark Entries”

“Until exposed became my darker side”

  26. Fantastic Easter show.

Would like to hear anything from The Cranes or Babacar.

  27. Thanks Matt for playing Anne Clark. I never heard her before. Thanks for turning me on to her.
I see that you are playing through the Bigod 20 album. I’ve enjoyed that.
    Can you play:
    Die Warzau – Money Afterall
    Sister Machine Gun – Burn
    Consolidated – anything by them

  28. Always great to hear 45 Grave. Hope you can also spin something off of Paul B. Cutler’s fantastic new album in the future.
