  1. A few years back I requested my favorite Joy Division song, Walked in Line, and unfortunately it never got a play. How delightful that my first listen in almost a year started out with it. Great set and glad to see it’s even better than I remember. Could I trouble you for a bit of:

Ministry- Over the Shoulder (12” Version)

Please and thank you for doing the Good Lord’s work.

  2. Great episode Matt! My request for next week is
    Joy Division – The Eternal

    Goodnight!

  3. Constantine

Same deep water by the Cure

  4. You can never have enough saxophone. It’s not possible.

Hour 2 killed it tonight. Great choices. Thanks for the great show. Looking forward to next week. Take it easy.

  5. Joseph Breithart

Hi Matt. How about NIN “Wish”? The first time I saw them donut live was at an album launch surprise show in SF at a club. It was INSANE! During WISH I was in the pit and evidently I broke Kennedy’s arm (annoying MTV VJ..). I didn’t do it on purpose but that’s how nuts the audience was in the pit! The song reminds me of that incident every time.
She even mentioned it on air as “some idiot broke my arm at a NIN show last week…”

  6. Gang of Four: What We All Want
    Siouxsie and the Banshees: Monitor
    Adam Ant: Red Scab

  7. Thank you very much for playing my request!

  8. It was nice to hear new Depeche Mode in the mix. I don’t know if this is popular opinion but I’m really enjoying Memento Mori. And you ended the show with three of my all time faves! Thank you for another gem of a show.

  9. I missed it last night, I had a really busy weekend and I crapped out early, but it looks like a great set list and I’ll definitely catch it on demand. Closing out with sidewalking must’ve been great.

  10. Nice show, great diversity.

FRANK DE WULF… This guy. Can’t think of another artist who gets bestowed with as much respect from fellow artists. Bands are QUICK to point out his influence and relevance. “It all started with him,” they will say.

“The Tape” Franf De Wulf- absolute classic.(that’s Belgium, ya know)

“Dominator” Human Resource (Frank De Wulf #1 Mix)- what a monumental dance track remixed by a master!
“I’m bigger and bolder and rougher and tougher, in other words sucka, there is NO other”

    • that Dominator remix is nice. I’m much more familiar w/the original and joey beltram mixes, i dig the restrained “MBM-ishness” he brings to it

a “Darkrave” block (or whole show!) would be fun, at least for this old industrial fan and raver. Tracks like No Name No Slogan and Psyche Out were my gateway drug from the former into the latter. Some songs that Dominator brought up for me that might fit – or at least inspire a fun youtube-supported walk down memory lane…

Orbital – Naked and the Dub – tribal trippiness at its best
Bobby Konders – Nervous Acid – peak Acid?
Phuture – We Are Phuture – no, this is peak Acid.
Sungods – Ascension (the Moon) – an all time fave, slow and ravey and feels like dawn breaking
FSOL – Papua New Guinea – classic, with the most ethereal breaks…
Urban Shakedown – Some Justice – proto-jungle breaks madness, with the deepest bass roll.
Stone Roses – Fool’s Gold / A Guy Called Gerald remix – slinky.
Colm III – Take Me High (mansion mix) – one of the best builds to a breakdown ever put to vinyl.
      and finally
Ramjac ft. Mixmaster Morris – Massif – somehow they recorded this live. I think it may have been in outer space.

      • “WANNA KISS MYSELF!!”…Yeah the Dominator #1 Mix is where it’s at. Not so aggressive, but when the hoovers do finally kick in they let you know what’s up. Good introduction to hardcore techno for those not so inclined…I’ll take A Guy Called Gerald from your list thank ya very much…

      • Colm III, “Take Me High” is a fantastic song. In fact, it was my very first request on this show, almost five years ago to the day.

  11. What a great show last night! The Damned, Japan, Love & Rockets, Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie, the Church – I could go on and on about all the tracks I enjoyed. Thanks for all that you do, Matt! This show is always a highlight of my weekend.

    Request for next time:
Wake Up – Love & Rockets

  12. Would like to hear Sonic Youth – Tom Violence on Dark Wave! Every bit as dark as anything of the time. (Requested way too late in the week last week).

  13. The Cult – Bleeding Heart Graffiti

  14. Thank you so much Matt for The Cure track. I am lucky indeed to have scored tix…and that song is just beautiful – glad it’s a favorite of yours as well!! Anyway sine possible suggestions for next time:

    PWEI – Bulletproof
Front 242 – First In First Out
    KMFDM – Anarchy

Thanks as always! And remember….every week you rock our socks!! 。◕‿◕。

  15. Absolute perfect bookends to the show Matt, so good. So many great tracks this week, as always. Throbbing Gristle and Chris and Cosey were inspired selections. Loved hearing 1919 and UK Decay right after Bauhaus. Thanks for playing Shriekback and Stockholm Monsters.

I was incredibly bummed to miss the DM show on Saturday after testing positive for covid so it was especially nice to hear some more from Memento Mori. I’m liking what I’ve heard thus far although I’ve yet to hear the entire album. I hope there’s some saxophone on the album, haha.

Request for next week: Pink Turns Blue – Walking on Both Sides

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  16. Specimen – Syria or The Beauty of Poisin

  17. Great show once again! Thanks! That Throbbing Gristle track, fantastic.

for this week in honor of the wild winter (and now spring) we’re having on the west coast, how about Walking in the Rain by Flash & the Pan?

  18. A great show as usual.
Could you perhaps play “Me and You” by Egg Hunt or “Permanent Sleep” by Lowlife?
As always keep up the good song selections, I will be listening Sunday Night as always.

  19. Matt, I enjoyed the show. You are probably the only person playing music by Mentallo and the Fixer.

My request for a future show is for an artist hardly anyone ever plays but you: Nina Hagen – any song of your choice.

  20. Killer show! Next week, could you please play “ Does Caroline Know?” by Talk Talk?

  21. Multidimensional episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    The Force Dimension, “Menthol”

  22. Enjoyed the industrial and deeper cuts this week!

For the next DW, could you play something from The Gun Club in honor of Kid Congo Powers’ birthday (3/27). Maybe something like “Lupita Screams” or anything off of the Robin Guthrie-produced Mother Juno album (I like the guitar work and sound KCP and JLP got on that album).

    Thanks!

  23. Siouxsie and The Banshees –
    Hall of Mirrors

  24. Hello, I’d like to try to request an obscure song, active media disease lost .. thanks!

  25. Great show last week! Thank you for playing my request.
I forgot to send one this week…if possible could you play one of the following?

    Theater of Hate: Conquistador
    :Wumpscut: Wreath of Barbs
    Sunshine Blind: Neon
    Switchblade Symphony: Dissolve
    The Bolshoi: Away
If it’s too late, I totally understand. Thanks again!

  26. This probably doesn’t fit “genre-wise”, but the vibe would.
    Massive Attack – Butterfly Caught
My boss forces me to listen to this every week and the only way to infuse a track suggestion is through Matt Sebastian himself.
