Tough call between Hour 2 and 3 tonight. I’m going to have to give it to Hour 3 by a hair. But not a bad hour all evening. Great calls all around.
For future show, would like to ask for Fad Gadget “I Discover Love”
Thanks and have a great week.
Great show! Can you please play Resurrection by Brotherhood of Pagans? Thank you!
Great show tonight! Can I please hear Bel Canto – Spiderdust next week?
Thank you for playing my Verve request! Your mix is always stellar. Such a treat to hear Agent Orange. And I never tire of Mary Chain, Love and Rockets, Joy Division, Depeche Mode…
Enjoyed the punk AND shoegaze blocks. Anyone else see that “Shoegaze” was an answer to a Jeopardy! question from last Friday? (“This dreamy style of British indie rock got its name from the way performers stared at their effects pedals.” No contestant attempted to answer the question.)
Here are some requests –
Snake Corps – Look East for Eden
X – The Unheard Music
Thanks!
Would like to bring “Dreamtime” by The Heart Throbs from their album “Cleopatra Grip” to the listening people´s attention. Thanks! Amazing show as always!
Spear of Destiny – The Man who Tunes the Drums
Stellar Matt – what a wonderful mix of genres this week! Thank you for playing my requests! You mentioned The Cure and the ticket fiasco…I was one of the lucky ones to be a selected verified fan with the access code for the Toronto show. I’m super excited as I don’t think I’ve seen them since the early 90’s. Anyway can you play A Night Like This – hoping this song is in the setlist.
So glad to hear you got Cure tix Tina, the whole thing was indeed a fiasco. Fortunately I was able to get 4 for the Montreal show and 2 for the Bay Area show, and I just got my 10 buck reimbursement from those greedy bastards at Ticketmaster. Thank you Robert Smith!
Awesome as always, and THANK YOU for the incredible shoegaze. would love to hear the sisters’ cover of knockin on heaven’s door but if you don’t that’s fine because the music you play is so good
Matt – I didn’t get a code for the Toronto Cure show
:(
For me and the others that missed out, can you play the live Entreat Plus version of The Same Deep Water as You …… so we can wallow in our sorrow together
hope I can score some tickets and maybe hear it live this June …..
Constantine
Sorry…I was very lucky!
Since I’m scheduled to see The Church perform on stage next week, how about “The Unguarded Moment” from their debut album?
You’re in for a treat Fernando, the band is really on point this tour. Enjoy the show!
Another great set! I didn’t expect the shoegaze, but I’m a huge fan so it was a most welcome surprise!
Thank you for The Sisters request.
If you could play any of the following, it would continue to help my Sunday overnight shift go much better!
Swans: God Loves America
Chris Connelly: Shipwreck
Clan of Xymox: Imagination
Lycia: Pray
Slowdive: Alison
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds: I Had a Dream Joe
Thank you so much!
Wow, thanks for playing Crash Worship. Impressed.
Kk Records(that’s Antwerp, ya know)- look for the king cobra logo of this formidable EBM label with an outstanding stable of artists.
One of my favorites is The Force Dimension. They manage their own unique synthesized sound stew that sets them apart from their brethren. And they make umpire uniforms look so menacing.
Love playing their records. Their music “looks” so good undulating on a platter. The medium suits them. (Front 242 by comparison seem like a cassette tape.)
“Menthol”- dancefloor banger with such a crisp hitting drum track
“200-FA”- killer aboriginal vibe
“Tension (X-Tension version)- “FEEEEL the Tension!!!”
Hey Matt. That was a solid punk set to include in this week’s show! I’d like to request Poundsauce by Skatenigs.
Thanks!
Brilliant show Matt. That second hour had a sweet flow to it with the synth into the punk into the industrial, perfect. Thanks so much for playing DM, we are very excited for the San Jose show this Saturday, fingers crossed for a deep cut or two. Loved hearing 808 State with Bernard, reminded me of seeing them open for New Order on the Republic tour the summer I graduated from high school. The The were on that bill as well, what a trifecta.
And of course we all love a shoegaze block, another great one.
How about another old Factory Manchester band week, Stockholm Monsters – Fairy Tales.
Have a great week Matt, cheers!
P.S. The Church were fantastic last week. Not sure if you’re seeing them in Englewood tonight but if you are, be prepared for a mega set. They played for 2 hours and 40 minutes in SF, 24 songs!
I love this show! Clan of Xymox, Skinny Puppy please….
Curse…Damn, nice to see you here!
Brilliant show! Any chance you can play “Shine” by Slowdive this Sunday?
Great 3rd hour matt! Doesn’t get any better than curve Lush and Chapterhouse all in a row. Thanks.
Enjoyed hour 1 Matt! Would like to hear Bad Life PIL. Have a great week all.
Been loving the industrial sets, especially the Foetus, KMFDM, and Ministry/Ministry adjacent side projects like 1000 Homo DJ’s/Pailhead sets the past few weeks. Any chance at a Raymond Watts song in the upcoming weeks?
aka , the co-writer of the great Juke-joint Jezebel you played this week
OK I acknowledge this is debatable in terms of whether it is “Dark Wave” but I’d like to request Sonic Youth – Tom Violence. Listen to that and tell me it’s not Dark Wave! I will vehemently disagree. Such an awesome song..
Hi matt
How about DEVO uncontrolable urge
