Elvis Costello will head out on tour in the U.S. this summer in support of his brand new album The Boy Named If, a 15-date run that will find him backed by his crack band The Imposters and sharing the stage on most dates with Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets.
The tour opens Aug. 6 in Huber Heights, Ohio, and runs through Sept. 3 in Las Vegas. Tickets for all the shows go on sale 10 a.m. local time Friday; see elviscostello.com for full details.
More dates are expected to be announced, according to Costello’s representatives.
Costello will be backed by The Imposters — featuring former Attractions Steve Nieve and Pete Thomas, and ex-Cracker bassist Davey Faragher — with additional guitarist Charlie Sexton, who toured with the band last year as well. Opening most dates will be Costello’s old friend, producer and “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding” songwriter Lowe, who himself will be backed by Los Straitjackets.
Two shows will be opened by Nicole Atkins.
