Dead Can Dance — led by co-founders and mainstays Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard — has delayed the North American leg of its “A Celebration — Life & Works 1980-20201″ tour for a second time due to COVID-19, with the 13-date run now scheduled for October.
The tour originally was scheduled for April and May of 2020 then pushed to April and May of 2021. Now it’s scheduled to run from Oct. 1, opening in San Diego, through Oct. 25 in Seattle.
The tour follows the release in late 2018 of the duo’s ninth album album Dionysus — the much-anticipated follow-up to Dead Can Dance’s 2012 reunion effort Anastasis, which was the group’s first record in 16 years. The fall 2021 shows will be the band’s first in America since a 2013 appearance at Coachella.
Ticketholders should receive an email with details on their new seats. Those who can’t attend a rescheudled concert will be able to refund, the band says. Visit livenation.com/refund
