Classic punk outfit Buzzcocks today announced a 22-date North American tour later this spring that will find the band tearing through its first two albums — Another Music in a Different Kitchen and Love Bites — in their entirety each night, plus a promised selection of “other hits.”
The band — featuring original members Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle, plus recent additions Danny Farrant and Chris Remington — is set to open the North American leg of its ongoing “Another… Bites” tour May 11 in Washington, D.C., and play across the U.S. and Canada through a June 7 date in San Diego; more shows are expected to be announced.
The tour comes on the heels of the recent U.S. release of expanded 2CD reissues of the band’s first three albums, Another Music in a Different Kitchen (1978), Love Bites (1978) and A Different Kind of Tension (1979). Originally released in the U.K. in 2008, the three sets include remastered editions of the original albums, plus a huge helping of more than 30 previously unreleased cuts, including John Peel sessions, associated singles, live tracks and demos (see full tracklists here).
