As we reported last month, Vans is sponsoring a half-dozen special Record Store Day-related screenings of the “Industrial Accident: The Story of Wax Trax! Records” in April that will include a panel discussion and a “Wax Trax!-era” live set by Ministry.
Many have wondered how to get tickets to these free events, and we now have our first details. The first one will be held on April 13 — which is Record Store Day — at the House of Vans in Chicago, at 113 N. Elizabeth St. Five additional tour stops are set for Brooklyn, Toronto, Austin, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Those venues have not yet been revealed.

Each of the six events will include a screening of the Wax Trax! documentary, a live Q&A session and then performances by Ministry and Cold Cave. Al Jourgensen and Co. will play what’s being described in a news release as “a Wax Trax!-era, early ’90s set” of music — which is a little incongruous, since Ministry only released music on Wax Trax! in the early-to-mid-’80s.
So how will those tickets be distributed? According to a post on the Wax Trax! blog, there will be two types of free tickets — VIP and general admission — and two different ways to get them.
VIP: Anyone purchasing the limited-edition blue-vinyl pressing of the “Industrial Accident” soundtrack on Record Store Day itself — April 13 — at one of the yet-to-be-announced participating record stores in the six cities hosting a screening will be given two free VIP tickets that guarantee entry into the special screening and Ministry performance. The stores that will be giving away these tickets will be announced “closer to Record Store Day.”
GA: The general-admission tickets also are free and will be available through an online link that, similarly, will be revealed closer to Record Store Day. However, these tickets do NOT guarantee admission. VIP ticketholders will get first access to each venue and then, depending on how much capacity is left, GA ticketholders will be allowed in on a first-come, first-served basis. Wax Trax! recommends GA ticketholders get in line early: “Everybody who RSVPs (for GA tickets) will have the same chance as long as you’re there before the cut-off.”
Stay tuned for further details, and see the trailer for the film and the screening dates/cities below.

I pre-ordered the wax Trax documentary on Blu-ray and the soundtrack as well. How can I get vip passes? They aren’t released until record store day (April 13).
you answered your own question dan. as it says above, buy the blue vinyl on rsd, at locations tbd.
I just visited Generation Records in NYC and they sold out of the soundtrack. They told me I could go online somewhere and get passes for the Ministry performance on Monday just by RSVP. Any information would be great.
