Having just wrapped up their first leg Down Under, former bandmates Peter Murphy and David J today announced a 30-date North American segment of their tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of Bauhaus — a trek that’ll see the duo performing In the Flat Field in full.
Dubbed “40 Years of Bauhaus Ruby Celebration,” the tour — billed as Peter Murphy featuring David J — will come to the U.S. and Canada in January and February following U.K. and European dates later this year, and will immediately precede Murphy’s thrice-postponed residency in San Francisco.
The North American leg opens Jan. 16 in Anaheim, Calif., and wraps Feb. 28 back in Los Angeles. Those shows will feature a performance of Bauhaus’ 1980 debut, plus an “extended encore of Bauhaus classics.”
Murphy’s 15-performance residency at The Chapel in San Francisco will begin March 5 and wrap March 23. A representative of The Chapel tells Slicing Up Eyeballs that Murphy finally has received a visa to travel to the U.S. It was that delay that forced repeated postponements of the San Francisco dates.
As for Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins, they have not played with their former bandmates since the last Bauhaus reunion fell apart following the release of 2008’s Go Away White — but they have toured together as Poptone, performing songs by Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, and Tones on Tail.
Below, see the full tour dates for Murphy and David J, along with Murphy’s residency.

Saw them last week on the Austrailan tour… it was heaps of fun. Great songs, great crowd!
Wow! They are actually touring parts of the Southeast US. Florida, GA and NC included. Most acts have forgotten us due to the expense and logistics. Let’s support them and show there is an audience beyond the Northeast and California.
He actually added a second Chicago show for February 23rd because the first one sold out so quickly. Luckily landed tickets for that one.
Well damn, Montreal is sold out too! Well, “not officially sold out”, but “no seats are available”. Whatever that means. Perhaps they release more at some later time.
Evidently it DOES mean more tickets to be released later. I just got one! Anyway, I encourage all interested to get after it.
