Johnny Marr’s third proper solo album — a 12-song collection titled Call the Comet — will be released June 15, and fans can now get their first earful of the ex-Smiths guitar-slinger’s new sounds via first single “The Tracers,” which just hit streaming platforms.
The new solo effort, now available for pre-order in digital formats, follows Marr’s debut The Messenger in 2013 and its follow-up Playland in 2014. Marr finally began recording under just his own name after spending his post-Smiths years playing with a variety of bands, including Talking Heads, The Pretenders, Electronic, The The, Modest Mouse, The Cribs and more.
