John Fryer, a member of This Mortal Coil and famed recording engineer and producer who has worked with Love and Rockets, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Clan of Xymox and more, will be in New York City this weekend for a pair of rare 4AD/Mute-themed DJ sets — and we’ve got tickets, and a chance to meet Fryer himself, to give away to some lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs readers.
Fryer is set to spin at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at The Parlour Bar & Restaurant, 250 W. 86th St., on the Upper West Side, and we’ve got 4 pairs of tickets to give away for each night, along with entrance to a meet-and-greet with Fryer himself. (Tickets also are available to purchase online.)
The DJ set is promised to feature “rare, unreleased and/or never-heard-before remixes of songs in which he worked on,” with a focus on his output from the 4AD and Mute Records catalogs, including music by Yazoo, Wire, Depeche Mode, Lush, Dead Can Dance, Nine Inch Nails, Modern English and more.
In announcing the gigs, Fryer says:
“Super excited to be back in NYC, not been back for a while. I will be playing my exclusive set of ’80s 4AD and Mute tracks, re-mastered and added drums so they kicks ass in the clubs and a version of ‘Is Jesus Your Pal’ that has never released.”
TO ENTER: Drop a comment below telling us which night you’d like to attend (and feel free to name your favorite track Fryer’s worked on). If for any reason you’re unable to comment, please email your entry to info@slicingupeyeballs.com with the subject line “JOHN FRYER DJ SET.”
RULES: We’ll take entries until 11:59 p.m. EST Wednesday, Dec. 13. After that point, we’ll select the eight winners at random, who will be notified via their provided e-mail addresses. Important: If the winners do not reply to their notification email within 24 hours, new winners will be drawn. One entry per person.

Please enter my name into the drawing for tickets. I am an enormous fan of Mr. Fryer’s work. My favorite work from John Fryer is the ‘Hail’ album he worked on with Edvard Graham Lewis of Wire for Mute Records. Thank you and cheers. P/S: . I can only attend on Saturday night
