In what will come as a surprise to absolutely no one, Morrissey has canceled his headlining appearance at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles on Sunday, the radio station announced this evening, citing illness in the wake of his two previously scrubbed shows this week.
The former Smiths frontman was slated to headline Night 2 of the event, which began with a Muse-topped bill tonight. In a message on Twitter, KROQ said Moz’s appearance was cancelled “due to illness,” adding, “Morrissey’s team and KROQ apologize greatly for this disappointment and Morrissey looks forward to making it up to the Los Angeles fans as soon as possible.”
Morrissey his past week canceled the last two shows of his U.S. tour, in Philadelphia and Boston, citing an “illness in the touring party.” A third show had been canceled earlier in the run.
KROQ made no mention of an alternate headliner for Sunday night, which also is scheduled to feature performances by The Killers, Weezer, The Lumineers, Phoenix, Franz Ferdinand and more.

‘Moz’sounds stupid!
Please don’t call him Moz, it sounds stupid!!!!!
It’s been his nickname in the British press since the mid-80s. Probably not going to stop. At this point, though, maybe just “asshole” would be a better fit.
Not surprising as stated in the article, but sad none the less. Old Mogsy always puts on a good show for LA. I hope his health gets better or its curtains for any future tours.
He must have been a huge Ralph Garman fan and canceled in protest.
Moz man should retire once and for all and open his vegan food company. Wish he had the balls tonreunite The Smiths.
Hasn’t Johnny Marr recently said he’d never play with him again because of Moz’s support for Brexit /UKIP or something? Or did I imagine it? Can’t find anything about it via Google…
Johnny Marr has a very, very long list of reasons he won’t work with Morrissey again, all of them valid.
