U.K. post-punk warriors Wire stopped by the Seattle studios of KEXP radio in early April during a short West Coast swing in support of their 15th studio album, Silver/Lead, to perform a four-song on-air session and chat with host Stevie Zoom.
The band played three songs off its new album — “Diamonds in Cups,” “Playing Harp for the Fishes” and “Short Elevated Period” — plus “The Art of Assistance,” which Colin Newman described as being “fairly obscure within Wire’s catalog, having never been released on a proper album.”
Wire returns to the U.S. this September during its 13-date North American tour.
