As promised earlier this month, cancellation-prone Morrissey is returning to the road this fall — he’s just announced 18 new tour dates in Europe this October and November — although that trek now comes in support of an album, World Peace Is None of Your Business, that no longer has a record label or is even available digitally.
Via his usual outlet, fansite True To You, Moz announced the confirmed European dates, which open Oct. 6 in Lisbon, Portugal, and include six performances in Italy, plus shows in Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Poland before wrapping up Nov. 29 at London’s O2 Arena (see full dates below).
Morrissey’s announcement follows the cancellation in June of the remainder of his U.S. tour, a decision the singer said came with “unimaginable sorrow,” He blamed his longtime opening act for getting him sick.
This U.S. tour cancellation marked the third time since late 2012 the former Smiths frontman has pulled the plug on a U.S. tour, and follows his failed attempt last summer to tour South America last year, too. Those cancellations were all due to health ailments or his need to be with his sick mother.
Last week, Morrissey’s battle with Captiol/Harvest Records came to a head when he issued a 750-word diatribe against the label’s handling of his release. After some dispute over whether he’d been dropped, World Peace Is None of Your Business vanished from most U.S. online retailers and streaming services.
In today’s tour announcement, the singer notes, “Morrissey is urgently seeking a label to issue World Peace Is None of Your Business, which is now withdrawn from the Capitol-Harvest Records catalogue.”

Has the opening band had all their shots?
This might be his last chance, not just with fans but with the concert venues. Several acts have been blacklisted by halls in the past for too many cancellations, etc.
On the positive side, I truly feel this is one of his best releases ever, just my very humble opinion of course.
$20.00 on him making only three of those gigs.

If he were to do one or two shows a week, he’d fare better. He plays too many dates too close together.
Who really cares. I had tix that he cancelled. I was relieved I wasn’t going to have to sit through it, honestly. Oh so delicate, what a bore.
So he just moves forward with a NEW set of future canceled tour-dates. The man is a moebius strip of indolence and duplicity.
