The Church frontman Steve Kilbey dropped a New Year’s surprise for fans, releasing a nearly 3-hour documentary that features performances, interviews and “general horsing around” that he filmed during the short 1991 U.S. tour by Jack Frost, the ’90s-era Aussie side project he launched with the late Grant McLennan of The Go-Betweens.
The film is available for purchase as a digital download for $20, and, Kilbey points out, it contains no nudity, but “much bad language and drug references.” He also cautions viewers to be aware that the “film quality is slightly grainy in a few small parts, it is 23 years old, sound quality is excellent.”
Kilbey and McLennan, who died in 2006, recorded two albums under the Jack Frost banner: a self-titled record released in 1991 and a follow-up, Snow Job, in 1996. The ’91 dates were the group’s only U.S. tour.

I got to see The Church in 97. Peter Murphy opened from them. Peter Murphy blew them away. Don’t get me wrong I worship The Church (Pun intended) But their performance was lackluster at best.
