The Dave Wakeling-led reincarnation of 2 Tone-era ska act The English Beat and ska-punk survivors Fishbone will co-headline a month-long string of U.S. club dates in February and March dubbed the Spring Skaward Tour.
The 20-date trek, which also features reggae group Outlaw Nation, opens Feb. 12 in Austin, Texas, and wraps up March 5 in Englewood, Colo. (See full tour dates below.)
Following a near-complete reunion of the Beat in 2003 — the only hold-outs were Andy Cox and David Steele, who also played in Fine Young Cannibals — the band split into competing U.S. and U.K. versions; Wakeling leads the American faction, which includes no other original members, while Ranking Roger and Everett Morton form the backbone of the Beat’s U.K. iteration. As for Fishbone, the Los Angeles rockers remain anchored by founding members Angelo Moore and Norwood Fisher.
