Less than three months after it was reissued on red vinyl for Record Store Day, Echo & The Bunnymen’s 1980 debut album Crocodiles is getting another vinyl reissue, this time on 180-gram audiophile vinyl in an expanded 2LP “Hardback Book Edition” that will feature the original album plus 10 bonus tracks on a second record.
As SuperDeluxeEdition points out, this new pressing is due out July 8 in the U.K. on the Weatherbox label. The bonus material is the same featured on the 2003 CD reissue from Rhino Records, namely non-album tracks “Do It Clean,” “Read It In Books” and “Simple Stuff,” plus early versions of “Villiers Terrace,” “Pride” and “Simple Stuff,” and the four-song Shine So Hard live EP.
The hardback book will feature contributions from Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson plus new photos.
The 2LP reissue is available for pre-order now via Amazon.co.uk.

Ordered this immediately! Been waiting a while for this!
I remember when we’d play “Read it in Books”–Echo’s version & Cope’s version–back to back, over and over, and bicker. I always preferred Teardrop… ’til Julian went where he is.
