Kim Deal and the rest of The Breeders took advantage of a break in their tour in support of the 20th anniversary reissue of Last Splash to swing by “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” where the band played its 1993 alt-rock smash “Cannonball” on air and then stuck around for a web-only performance of the album’s penultimate track, “Drivin’ on 9,” a cover of a song originally by Ed’s Redeeming Qualities. Check out both videos below.

Still can’t get into this group. Kim Deal, Juliana Hatfield, Kim Gordon, Liz Phair, they all just blended into one higher-pitched yawn style in singing. I know they all had fans, though. Fair enough.
Right, Scott–they should have just stayed in the kitchen, baking and cooking because, you know, they all sound the same. I pray you don’t have daughters
Really did not appreciate the ad hominem attack. They all sounded the same to me then and now. Mind telling me how not being a fan of their music equates with chaining them to the domestic sphere?
cannot wait to see them!!!!
That was fun! That album brings back some terrific memories, and still sounds fresh even though so much time has passed. Thank you Kim, Josephine, Kelley and Jim!
