Depeche Mode will warm up for the opening of its Delta Machine world tour in Nice, France, early next month with a just-announced free concert in Los Angeles this Friday at The Troubadour, a 400-capacity club that radio station KROQ — which is giving away the tickets — is calling “the smallest venue the band has played in L.A…. EVER!”
Fans can enter to win tickets online, and the station also is giving away tickets on air every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. all this week.
The Troubadour gig follows the band’s already sold-out “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” mini-concert on Wednesday, and comes after the group sold out two Staples Center concerts in September, with a third date just added.
DM’s world tour kicks off May 4 in France, and will continue across Europe through late July, before hitting North America in late August. Another European leg is set for November into February, with more U.S. dates expected in the summer of 2014 (see full tour dates below).
