Video: Paul McCartney, Nirvana members debut new song ‘Cut Me Some Slack’

Paul McCartney closed out Wednesday night’s marathon 12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief and, as expected, had a few special guests up his sleeve: the surviving members of Nirvana, who reunited to back McCartney not on one of Kurt Cobain’s songs or a Beatles classic, but, rather, a sludgy new rocker called “Cut Me Some Slack.”

Turns out Dave Grohl got former bandmates Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear and a certain ex-Beatle together about six months ago to jam, and the ended up writing the song for the album that will accompany Grohl’s upcoming documentary “Sound City.”

Above, you can see the 12-12-12 performance in full (via The Audio Perv), and, below, is a snippet of the studio recording of “Cut Me Some Slack” from the newly launched cutmesomelsack.net, plus footage of Grohl and Novoselic discussing the collaboration.

i donated $100 on the phone, but this track alone is worth the $12.99. Wonder if this track was a Cobain hidden gem….
