Citing “unforeseen circumstances… beyond our control,” reunited post-punk/New Wave rockers Modern English canceled a five-date tour of the band’s native U.K. that was to have taken place this week, and instead announced a trio of concerts in Florida later this month. The band says “plans are already in motion to organize a new 2013 U.K. tour.”
The group — original members Robbie Grey (vocals), Gary McDowell (guitar), Mick Conroy (bass) and Stephen Walker (keyboards), plus guitarist Steven Walker and drummer Ric Chandler — was to have played Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and London beginning this past Wednesday. Instead, Modern English will now play shows Sept. 28-30 in Miami, Orlando and Jacksonville.
