The Dead Milkmen recently announced a pair of October shows — a festival appearance in upstate New York followed by a Halloween bash in their hometown of Philadelphia — and revealed that the band is studio-bound to work on new music, perhaps a follow-up to 2011’s The King In Yellow, the band’s first album in 15 years.
The band — original members Joe Jack Talcum, Dean Clean and Rodney Anonymous, plus bassist Dan Stevens, who replaces the late Dave Blood — is set to play the NY Harvest Festival and Freedom Fair in Monticello, N.Y., on Oct. 14, followed by an Oct. 31 all-ages Halloween gig at Union Transfer in Philadelphia (tickets for the latter go on sale Friday).
The Milkmen also wrapped up their summer update on the band’s website with the following message: “We’re heading into the recording studio soon…to…uh…you know…record some new songs! More details soon…”
